The story begins in 1991 when Mika Koivunoksa, Jukka Luukkonen and Esa Rytky started to play together. They started rehears in a big silkfactory in Tikkurila, Vantaa, Finland. In 1992 vocalist Jami and bass player Konsta Ålander joined the band. In 1994 Nail Trails released their first demo -Mad Mans Illusion-. Later in that same year Nail Trails had their first gig in Sörnäinen, Helsinki, Finland. 5 minutes before the gig, the name "Nail Trails" was invented. In 1995 vocalist Jami left the band and Mika Oksanen came to replace him. In 1997-1998 Nailtrails released two demos (When the sun goes down and Rock'n roll machine). In 2000 Konsta left Nail Trails and short after that, the band was freezed for couple of years. In 2003 Nail Trails was back in business with new motivation and three old members, Mika Koivunoksa, Esa Rytky and Mika Oksanen. New Nail Trails started to rehears at Gammelbacka, Porvoo, Finland. Later in the same year they changed the rehearsal place to Hinthaara, Sipoo, Finland. New Nail Trails was searching for new players to the band and some candidates came to play and quit before they even got started. In 2004 Jyrki "Jykä" Mattila came to play drums in the band and Nail Trails released their fourth demo -Keep it simple fucking stupido-. Vocalist Mika Oksanen played bass on that demo. Right after the fourth demo a new bass player was found and Kim Eklund joined the band. Fifth demo Grief- was released in the beginning of 2005 with these five guys. Later in the same year Jyrki "Jykä" Mattila left the band and Juha-Pekka "Hisu" Kaartinaho replaced him.
Nail Trails made their strongest demo -Fall into angels eyes- in fall of 2005 and got very good feedback from the fans and critics. About the same time vocalist Mika "Jose" Oksanen left the band for one year to explore the world. Short after Mika came back from Australia the band was freezed again. But it didn't take long before band started to playing again. In 2007 Nail trails was training and creating new material with three familiar faces and one new member. Band now had a new enthusiastic drummer Nico Luukkonen, son of the original Nail Trails drummer Jukka. Band was now rehearsing in Nuppulinna at Jukka's and Nico's home. Only three months after a promising start the band had to face a tragic loss. On November 18th our young drummer sadly passed away. Shocked and stunned Nail Trails were ready to retire, maybe for good...... Soon after the funeral, Nico's dad announced that the drumming in this house shall not be over. Bravely Jukka stepped in and the band continued to work on the material they had started with Nico. By the fall 2009 Nail Trails was ready to go to the studio with seven new songs. In loving memory of a talented musician, friend and a son, Nail Trails released new demo in February 2010. Demo is called Path of Suffering as it has most definitly been for Nail Trails...2011 Nail Trails decided to invest for own studio equipment and NT Studio was founded in Nail Trails rehearsal place. It was time to learn how to record drums and after that all the other instruments. At the same time band was creating new songs for next demo. In 2013-2014 all seven new songs were recorded and finally ready for mixing and now New demo VII is released
